Walking Adventure in UK

Why not combine visiting somewhere new with a walking adventure? Plan a walking trip with one of The Ramblers' top 10 summer wanders:
TEGG'S NOSE & THE DEAN VALLEY, CHESHIRE
(Left) Sitting on the western edge of the Peak District, this walks is best in the summer when heather and harbeils are in bloom. Lamaload reservoir at the eastern extent of the walk is surrounded by broadleaved woodland and larch and pine plantations. Keep an eye out for woodpeckers, nuthatches, flycatchers, tree creepers and buzzards.


MAWNAN SMITH, CORNWALL
A pleasant stroll along country lanes, coastal footpaths and woodland. You could even try a swim at Maenporth.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE WAY, HERTFORDSHIRE
An ideal summer walk, taking in attractive open countryside, and pretty villages. The Hertfordshire Way is a 170mile (272km) circular walk starting and finishing in Royston.

SEVEN SISTERS, EAST SUSSEX
This walk includes some of the finest and most iconic coasfal views in Sussex. Cuckmere Haven is one of the few unspoiled estuaries on the south coast.

SIX TONS AND A HAM - THE LANGTONS OF LEICESTERSHIRE
The Langtons are a group of villages a few miles north of Market Harborough. Much of the eastern part of Leicestershire is an ambler's paradise: quiet, peaceful and beautiful. This walk crosses undulating countryside and passes through each of The Langtons' which provide more than their fair share of country pubs.

CARREG CENNEN CASTLE, CARMARTHENSHIRE
With impressive views from the castle, this walk lies just within the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in the foothills to the west of the Black Mountains.

MOELWNION, GWYNEDD
Idyllic when the gorse is vibrant yellow. There are historical sites all along the walk from Stone Age settlements to slate and granite quarry workings.

BOSHERSTON LILY PONDS & THE STACKPOLE ESTATE, PEMBROKESHIRE
This exhilarating walk combines beaches, cliff tops, a flooded valley and woodland. The summer lilies in flower af Bosherston Lily Ponds lead down to the sea at Broad Haven South. The estate is home to rare species including otters, butterflies and choughs.

NORTH AYRSHIRE, CLAUGHLAND HILLS, ARRAN
Enjoy Arran at its best on this circular walk. Aim for the 09.45 ferry from Ardrossan to arrive at Brodick pier where the walk starts, with the return ferry leaving Brodick at 16.40. It's a lovely walk, taking in attractive forest tracks.

WESTERN ISLES, LEVERBURGH TO RODEL, SOUTH HARRIS
Local communities on Harris, along with The Ramblers, are campaigning for this to be the location for Scotland's third National Park - it's one of Europe's wildest, most beautiful landscapes.
